Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is a gentle way of helping the body to release traumatic muscle memories. It can help us to ground ourselves when we have dissociated by reminding us of our physical boundaries. It can bring us out of the traumatic past and into the secure present by helping us to remember that we are living in adult bodies. And it can remind us what it feels like to be safe and comfortable in our own skin.

My signature massage blends all of my training and experience into an individualized and slow-paced treatment that allows me to identify areas of tension and constriction in the body. Approaching these areas with gentleness and respect allows for the gentle release of old trauma-induced holding patterns in the muscle tissue, and fosters a sense of deep healing of both the body and the spirit.

"Through a major life transition and trauma, Jo has helped me as a confidant and a teacher, helping me to listen to my body and care for my physical well-being and mental health. She has imparted skills that I expect will last me a lifetime. I thought I was just going for a massage, and I didn’t realize how transformative the relationship/experience would be! I recommend her services if you are experiencing high stress, a life crisis or a major life change of any kind." - Morgan C.
